Why we wait to collect payment.

Every pen starts with real materials and Dennis's actual build calendar. We check both before asking you to pay.

The short answer

Submitting your order request saves your selections and puts them in front of Dennis. It does not charge you.

Before collecting payment, we check three things:

  • The materials for your selected pen build are available.
  • Dennis has room for the build in his workshop schedule.
  • We can give you a realistic ship date and complete total.
No charge. No surprise.

Once the details are confirmed, we will contact you with a secure way to complete payment.

What happens after you submit

You will first receive an automatic email confirming that we received your request. Dennis and the JST Adventures team then review the materials and current build queue.

We aim to follow up within 12 hours, and most customers hear from us within just a few. In that message or call, we will confirm:

  • Your selected pen or pen-and-pencil set
  • Current material availability
  • Your merchandise total, free U.S. shipping, and any applicable tax
  • Your expected build and ship date
  • A secure way to complete payment

We will never ask you to send card or bank information by email.

When will my pen ship?

Shipping is free for orders delivered within the United States. Most orders are ready to leave the workshop within 5–7 business days of the original request. Because every piece is made by hand, material availability or a busy workshop can occasionally change that timing.

You will receive an order-specific ship date before you pay. If the timing does not work for you, there is no pressure to continue.

What if something is unavailable?

We will tell you plainly. You can choose another finish or accent, wait for the original material, or step away from the order before payment is collected.

That extra conversation is the reason we wait: it keeps surprises off your doorstep and lets Dennis give each build the time it deserves.

Ready when you are.

Choose one from the catalog or put together a combination of your own. We will take it from there.
